BRI Won "Bank Of The Year 2015 Indonesia" From The Banker

LONDON - PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk was announced as "Bank of the Year 2015 Indonesia" in The Banker Bank of The Year Awards 2015 that was conducted by FT The Banker. The magazine is owned by The Financial Times Ltd which write issues of international finance since it was first launched in January 1926 by Brendan Bracken (Financial News).
The award was received by Asmawi Syam, CEO of Bank Rakyat Indonesia. Bank of the Year Awards is a prestigious award and is recognized by global financial institutions. Top 1000 World Bank is annually published in July based on the results of The Banker Database.
The Banker did the evaluation process independently since it was a reputable publisher specifically in financial industry and Banking, circulated in more than 180 countries. The Banker is also a major source of data and analysis for financial industry. "This award is a present for BRI, for our 120th anniversary on December 16" said Asmawi.
BRI was able to achieve this award mostly because of its financial performance. As of September 2015, BRI total revenue was Rp 70.5 trillion, grew 14,9 percent yoy and successfully reached Rp 18,3 trillion for net profit. BRI disbursed loan up to September 2016 amounted Rp 519 trillion, increased 11.8 percent compared to last year. The growth mostly was driven by a high growth in micro lending which grew 14.7 percent yoy to Rp 170.2 trillion, higher than other segments. The number of borrowers for micro lending was 7.6 million customers and the NPL was low at 1.4% (gross).
