BRI Regaining Asiamoney Award

Hong Kong – in Second Semester of 2015, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk was awarded as the Best Domestic Bank in Indonesia 2015 from Asiamoney, after previously gaining it for two times in 2008 and 2014. The event was held on Thursday (16/09) in JW Marriot Hotel – Hong Kong.

“This award is an achievement for our hard work to improve our performance to be the best bank in Indonesia. We hope this award will motivate us to maintain our good performance for coming years, not only domestically but also in regional level” said Sunarso, Deputy President Director of BRI. He added that the assessment of the award was conducted independently by the Financial Analyst and Economic Journalists from international media. This independent agency assessed more than 100 banks in Indonesia for this award as a leading bank in Indonesia.

This award was an evidence of BRI’s hard work in servicing its customers and achieved the best financial performance while the economic condition was experiencing a slowdown. By end of June 2015, BRI has disbursed loan of Rp 503.6 trillion or grew 9.7% yoy from last year, mainly driven by micro loan growth with 15.0% yoy growth to Rp 165.8 trillion.

The company recorded a total income of Rp 46.2 trillion, grew 19.5% yoy and delivered net profit of Rp 11.8 trillion. This growth mostly was driven by interest income at Rp 39.9 trillion or increased by 18.4% yoy compared with June 2014. Interest income was contributed 86.4% of the total revenue whereas other sources of income came from non interest income that reached Rp 5.6 trillion or grew 46.9% compared from last year.
