JAKARTA - PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. was finally announced as the overall winner of The Annual Report Award 2013 among 246 companies participating in this competition, in the ceremony held at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Pacific Place, Jakarta on Thursday, October 16th 2014. Prior to the announcement, BRI was also successfully maintain its position as the best in The Listed Financial State-Owned Enterprise category for two consecutive years, while PT. Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk placed second and PT. Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk was third. 

The Annual Report Award itself has been held since 2002 and was initiated and also conducted by the cooperation between Bank Indonesia, Financial Services Authority (OJK), Indonesia Stock Exchange, Ministry of State Owned Enterprise (SoE), National Committee for Governance Policies (Komite Nasional Kebijakan Governance), Indonesian Institute of Accountant (IAI), and Indonesia Taxation Authority-Ministry of Finance with the purpose to incentivized companies in providing information transparency and good corporate governance practice.

Currently, Annual Report is not only functioning as a form of management's report used in the Annual General Meetings, but also becoming a communication media to all stakeholders related to the company's business opportunities and performance. The merit system applied was mainly consists of good corporate governance aspect (35 percent), Management Discussion and Analysis (22 percent), Financial Information (20 percent), Company Profile (8 percent), Management Report (3 percent) and other criteria.
